Jonathan Lee Barnes, 60, of Covington, KY, passed away on April 23, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Edgewood. He was born on March 29, 1961 in Dumas, Texas to Travis and Helen Barnes. He grew up with his sister, Brenda Leane Mutter, and brother, Samuel Grant Barnes (d. July 7, 1976). Jonathan was the father of Jennifer Barnes Olson and Felicia Michelle Brown, and proud grandfather of Gavin Patterson, Andrew Barnes, Olivia Bell, Izzy Olson, Paisley Brown, Devlin Brown, and Emilia Olson. Jonathan was a very talented artist, and he adored, in his words, oldy but goody music. He never missed the chance to serenade you with his beautiful singing voice, and he really enjoyed Wheel of Fortune. He had a contagious smile and the kindest eyes. He was devoted to his faith and loved his church. Most of all, he loved his daughters more than anything. Jonathan had a tough life, but his adversities never stood in the way of his lending a hand to someone in need. Dad, you are near, even if we don’t see you. You are with us, even if you are far away.
