Kerin Sue Rosen (nee McCarthy), of Harrison, Ohio, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, with family at her side. Born December 21, 1935, to Charles and Susan McCarthy of Norwood, Ohio, she was the ninth of their ten children. She attended Our Lady of the Angels High School in St. Bernard. She married Edward Rosen on July 7, 1956, and was the mother of seven children.
Mom was dedicated to her family, and taught us to embrace life with love, faith and a sense of humor. Wherever she went, she greeted everyone with her sunny Irish smile and warm heart. She was interested in everyone and everything. She loved to travel. She was an avid reader and loved word games. She did crossword puzzles in pen and never had to scratch out a wrong answer. She was devoted and joyful in her Catholic faith. If she said she would pray for you, be assured she added your intentions to her never-ending rosary and novena prayer list, and is praying for you even now. She was dearly loved, and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter Laurie (Mike) Murphy, son Marc Rosen, and daughters Heather Duty, Jennifer Leugers, and Erin Rosen; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; her brother Barry McCarthy; many, many nieces and nephews; and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Edward Rosen; son Neil Rosen and daughter Maria Rosen; parents Charles and Susan McCarthy; sisters Rita (Phil) Suer and Jeanne (James) Larbes; brothers Donald, Kenneth (Dolores), Neil (Annie), Melvin (Patricia), Keith (Lois) and Alan (Sally) McCarthy, and sister-in-law Martha. A Celebration of Life will be held at Nathanael Greene Lodge, 6394 Wesselman Rd, on Sunday, October 18, from 2pm-6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, Taylor Creek, on Monday, October 19, at 10am with internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
