Judith J. Postler February 13, 2014

Judith “Judy” J. Postler nee Johnson, age 79, of Terrace Park, loving wife of the late John R. Postler, passed away peacefully February 13, 2014. She is survived by children, Margaret Postler Porter (Richard), Richard Postler (Manuel Hernandez) and James Postler; grandchildren, John Adam Porter and Casey Allen Porter; siblings, Marcia Halligan (Tom) and James N. Johnson III (Judy).

She was a member of the U.S. Group and the Jr. League.

Judith worked in retail sales for years and loved her work. There wasn’t one customer that she served that she didn’t call “Doll”.

Judith had a passion for professional baseball, especially her beloved Cincinnati Reds. She followed every major league baseball team and was knowledgeable about every team’s players and stats.

She had many interests and a real zest for life. Judith loved to go to the movies and theater as well as visiting museums. She also loved to try new restaurants and go shopping. As an avid supporter of the arts, Judith made donations to many of her favorite museums and theaters. She loved to travel to New York and Chicago and also enjoyed taking cruises. She was also fond of animals, especially dogs.

There is something that Judith loved more than baseball, her family. She was very proud of her beautiful family and all of their accomplishments. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Adam and Casey. “Yaya”as her grandchildren would call her, was so proud of Adam and all his success at Ohio State. They loved to talk about sports whenever Adam would visit. She had a very special bond with Casey, her “Doll Baby”. Judith understood Casey’s disability and was a very strong advocate for Autism. She was Casey’s caregiver for over a year and a half, but in all reality, they took care of each other.  Judy will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

As per Judy’s wishes, there will be a private family service in Carmel, CA.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Autism Society of Greater Cincinnati.
