Jerome E. Reuter March 6, 1958 - December 17, 2020

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jerome E. “Jerry” “Runt” Reuter on December 17th at the age of 62. We are reacting the best way we know how —by spreading humor and love. Jerry was a lighthearted man who never took life too seriously. He loved nothing more than seeing a smile on a loved ones face and to make them laugh.  It is only fitting that we honor him in this way. He passed away in the comfort of his own home on his couch. His legs kicked up and his hand behind his head in his laid back fashion.  We bet you could smell that sweet ocean air with the sound of the Beach Boys playing in the background. Jerry was not the picture of health, but was doing fine and his family was taken by surprise.   He went due to a medical event and seemingly without a lot of pain.  His sense of humor and tender heart are the best gifts he gave to us.  Instead of crying while we were making arrangements, we are laughing.  This does not mean we are not incredibly sad, but it’s definitely what he would have wanted. So let’s honor him the best way we can by continuing to make each other smile and laugh. Please take a moment to share any story you may have. We are creating a Memorial Facebook page to be able to share our stories on or post it here below. This way those memories will go on forever. Our photos of him are limited, please share those as well.

So as the Beach Boys would say.  “We’ll get there fast and then we’ll take it slow.

We love you Dad/Grandpa.

Jerry is survived by his loving children Mandi (Jason) Smith and Michael (Brittney) Reuter, grandchildren Elijah and Gabriel Smith and Kinsley, Harrison and Hudson Reuter, brothers John
(Betty) Reuter and Jeff (Becky) Reuter, sister Judy (Norb) Schultz and
many nieces and nephews. Services will be private
