Francis “Frank” Thomas Pollard December 21, 1958 - February 3, 2022

Francis “Frank” Thomas Pollard, 63, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on February 3, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY, following a long illness.

 

Frank was born in Covington, KY on December 21,1958 to the late Tom and Lois Pollard. Frank was a 1976 graduate of Dixie Heights High School.

 

Soon after graduating, Frank embarked on his 25-year military career. He served 4 years in the US Marine Corps as a CH-53 helicopter crew chief. Following the Marine Corps, he served 21 years in the Army as a OH-58 Scout Pilot and an Apache Pilot, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. Among others, he was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. Frank loved the military and it provided him the most satisfying years of his life. Following retirement from the military Frank received his degree in Professional Aeronautics and was a program manager for Unitek Technical.

 

Frank loved his family fiercely. He cherished the time that he was able to spend with them. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He also enjoyed time and reunions with his military family.

 

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his loving sister Christine (Gene) Belford. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy (Nordman) Pollard, daughters Christina (Reggie) Merchant, and Valerie (Mitch) Kaiser. Three grandchildren that he adored- Peyton & Trevor Merchant and Olivia Kaiser. Brother, John (Annmarie) Pollard and sisters Theresa Fite and Melinda (Wayne) Webster. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

A committal service is planned for February 28,11:00 am at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln, Williamstown, Ky.
