Michelle “Lee” Thomas passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky, after a brief illness. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Lee was born on October 20, 1969.
She was a loving, easygoing, and generous person. Lee was also an amazing cook. Her backyard may have been her favorite place to be as she loved nature and her privacy. Never on time for anything, but that was Lee! She loved life, privacy, and her family.
Preceded in death by her father, Carl Thomas (Manton), paternal grandparents James and Annie Downs Thomas (Manton), Joseph Hugh and Lorene Greenwell Bartley (Bardstown).
Survived by the love of her life; Frankie Carey (Erlanger, KY); her children Gerrit Thomas (Williamsburg, KY); Haley Devine (Loretto, KY); her grandchildren Mallory Thomas, Waylon Sellinger, Beth Ann Thomas, Nolan Carey, Weston Carey, and Asher Carey.
Also surviving are three stepchildren and a loving stepdaughter, her mother Betty Ann Thomas (Manton), 2 brothers, Scott Thomas (Cox’s Creek), Brian Thomas, and one sister, Sharon Hill (Bardstown), as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation was chosen. Through death, Lee was an organ donor and two people were given the gift of sight. Also surviving was her buddy “Leo” the Shih-Tzu. A celebration of life will be held at her sister’s house on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
